EMPLOYMENT/WORK EXPERIENCE

October 2015 - Present

Independent Dance Producer & Project Manager - Working on a project basis to support organisations, companies and individuals, including, Nott Romeo & Juliet (Dance4 & Birmingham Royal Ballet), Light Night  2016 (Dance4), U.Dance Selection (Dance4 & DanceXchange), Awakenings (Wise and Carter), Nicola Carter, North Warwickshire Youth Dance Company (Coventry Performing Arts Service), ManMade  Youth Company (supported by mac birmingham), Spiltmilk (The Love Project), Navadisha (South Asian Dance Conference), The Line Project (North Warwickshire Youth Dance project), Anjali Dance Company, Dirtmarket, The Mighty Creatives Emerge Programme, and ongoing Producer for Autin Dance Theatre, and Mercurial Dance.

October 2014- October 2015

Programme Manager, Pre-vocational and Recreational Dance, DanceXchange - Role included managing the Centre for Advanced Dance Training programme and recreational class Programme. Managing a team of tutors, programme co-ordinators, subject leaders and guest artists. Lead for Children and Young people's, and community projects and programmes.


September 2013 - October 2014

Project Manager, DanceXchange - Role has included being the lead of a multiple projects and running programmes,  working with many different partners, artists and participants. Some of the projects have included, Midlands Youth Dance Festival, Strive (an artists training programme for working with marginalised communities),  Arts Champions programme (set up by Birmingham City Council), IdeasTap partnership, DanceXchanges'  Youth Forum, and other education and outreach programmes.


April 13- August 13

Arts and Marketing Administrator, mac birmingham - Role was equally split between two departments. In the arts department I support predominantly on the Next Generation programme for young people aged 14-24, including, events, festivals, entrepreneurial programmes, one to one support for emerging artists, and work with targeted groups. In the marketing and communications department I supported the marketing team with advertising, website updates, social media updates, ticket sales and offers, sales reports, print, distribution and general marketing.


September 2012 – April 2013

Dance Coach, Sport For Life (Shanghai, China) - Role included teaching and leading a variety of dance sessions to adults, and children aged 3 to 16. I deliver sessions in a variety of sessions including schools and compounds across Shanghai. I was also responsible for administrating and advertising for the Dance Programme.


March 10 – August 12

Assistant Producer , Dance4 - Role involved supporting Dance4’s Producer, and the Dance Development Managers , across all regional, and national dance programmes. This included event/project management, marketing & artist/venue liaison. Some of these include commissions, touring, producing new work, programming, leadership programmes and artist CPD. My role has also included supporting on Dance4’s Centre for Advanced Training scheme.

September 08- March 10            

Project Assistant, Dance4 - Role included supporting the team with project management, staffing events and workshops, taking bookings, updating the website and database, updating finance system, PA to Director, general enquiries and office maintenance.


Graduate Ambassador, Dance 4 - Working as part of a team to devise strategies, resources and a support network to help graduates get work and gain experience, on a regional and national scale.


June 07 – August 08

Freelance Dance Artist, Dudley Performing Arts, Adult Education Services Dudley MBC, Jigsaw Youth Theatre - Work involved teaching and leading regular classes and workshops to people in different educational and community settings, ranging in ages from 4 to 70, and of many cultures and abilities. Work also involved performing, event/festival management and co-ordination, and administrative work.
